Wax Paper Resist

hi there,
yesterday I taught a technique class and we did wax paper resist. I used the new in Colour Wisteria Wonder with Concord Crush. I also used a new hostess set called Simply Soft. It will be available on September 1st.
I made 2 cards. One using the ovals die and the other a rectangle. Here they are. What do you think?

I love these flowers. Thanks for stopping by. Have a good week.

My gifts from camp.

I just remembered that I haven't shown you the gift I made for the camp swap and also the one I received.
I decided to decorate a bag that I had covered in Basic black card. I used some red roses that I had made previously and added some die cut little leaves. I put some samples of Stampin Up product inside.

When it came to my turn to choose a gift I was so happy to get this gorgeous box made by Pat Carr. I love it and she taught me how to make the box as well so an added bonus. I now must get the mini milk carton die.

happy Sunday to you all and thanks for dropping by.

Sale-a-bration Case

Hello there. It is a beautiful sunny day here in Perth. Spring is just around the corner and I am looking forward to all the lovely flowers blooming.
I have been meaning to post some more on my blog all week and here we are back to the weekend and I haven't achieved that. Anyway here are 2 cards for you to see that I cased while at camp. My friend Shelly had a couple of cards with her that she had made while visiting the US. I haven't used my Sale-a-bration sets much so thought it was a good time to do so.
The first card is made with Bliss. I haven't put a greeting on yet.

The second card is made using Sweet Summer. Now that I have used these sets I must make some more cards with them. My photography isn't the greatest.

Well I am off to make more samples for my launch of the new Idea Book and Catalogue which I am holding next Saturday. I hope to show you some more cards before then. have a wonderful weekend.

and still more...

hi again, I have some more of the cards I made over the last weekend at camp. This first one is made using The flower punch and the For you stamp. This one is by Richelle. I added an extra layer using the circle punch.
the next card is by Tracey from Manjimup. This card had a different opening and I will add another pic to show it open.

All the other cards I will have to get photos of, so I can show you. I will come back and show you some more later. have a good week.

and more swaps....

back again with more cards. First one made by Karen. It is a nice bright card using Sweet and Sour specialty paper.

next is one by Lynda. The background is the wax paper resist technique. I also learned that you can use whisper white for this technique when I always thought it had to be glossy card.

another card I made was this great kids card by Marthea. I changed the layout around a little and now think I should have left it how it was but its still ok.
last today is a card by Pat Carr. She makes lovely punched cards. I changed the face of the panda a little and gave him a mouth.
that's all for today. Stop by again tomorrow for more.

Shoe Box Swaps and other cards made.

finally here to show you some of the cards I made over the weekend. I didnt get to make all the swaps and also changed some of the cards just slightly. I did get the kits for the other cards but still haven't made them up. Ive been having a lazy week. The first card I made is using a new set coming in the new catalogue. I wanted to use the buttons and ribbon I had received from the promotion last month. I made 2 different cards and then a third using a sketch challenge. The top photo is my first 2 cards trying different colours. I used the new stamp set Button Buddies. I love this vase.

the next card is a sneek peek from the upcoming IB&C made by my niece Amy's using the new set Button Buddies. I love this card and even though Amy doesn't normally like cutting out she had heaps of it on this card.

this next card is one by Michelle Cocking. I love this set and the colours were great. She used the colour blocking technique using the acrylic block.

the next cards was one made by Jo Chester. She had designed this as an invite to her sons birthday party. It is a great kids card.

Ill come back with some more tomorrow. Hope you are having a good weekend

More on my camp.

Hi again, what a lovely sunny day we are having here in Perth. I have been out for a shopping trip to Ikea with my good friend Sandra. Of course I was trying so hard not to buy anything but picked up a few small things.
Anyway as promised here are some more photos from camp.

This is one of the 20 water bottles I altered for the ladies. They could fill them up all weekend so I covered the designer paper panel with contact so it wouldn't get wet. I used the lovely new lace ribbon border punch around the middle and wove ribbon through it. I also cut one flower from it for the name tag around the neck.
I gave everyone a Naturals Ivory A5 card piece scored ready, and a printed colour chart in their bag and over the weekend they could stick all the circles of colour on and decorate the front cover and belly band. I had punched out all the colours for them. Graham helped me with the chart. He is quite clever with making charts etc.

I also had my friend make some pillow boxes for when the ladies arrived but as yet I don't have a photo of one so must do that.
thanks for stopping by. next I will show some of the shoebox swaps we made over the weekend.

A Wonderful Weekend Away...

Hi there,
the week has flown by and it has taken me all week to get over the preparation for camp and then camp. Of course I enjoyed every minute of it and its only my health that tired me out so much.
I have some photos of the gifts and the prize wheel Graham and I made.

Name tags. I CASED these from my friend Jennie

Close up of the prize wheel. Everyone got to spin the wheel and win a prize.

Prize wheel made from legs of fan and a Lazy Susan. Clever husband I have. My niece Amy got to spin first.

Wish list notepad.

We had the best time on camp and I will be back tomorrow to show you some of the cards we made. I relaxed and took my time with the cards over the weekend so didn't even get to make all the shoebox swaps.

I have just been out for breakfast with my good friend Lee-Anne for her birthday. Happy Birthday Lee-Anne. Just have to pack now, and then off to camp after lunch.
Anyway here are the last 2 cards from my retiring stamp sets day. I love Sense of Time and decided to make an easel card. I used designer paper from Newsprint pack with Basic Gray.

The final card I used the Baby Swipe technique using Rich Razzleberry and So Saffron reinkers and then stamped with the retiring hostess set Silhouette Sentiments.

have a wonderful weekend. I know I will.

More retiring cards...

Oops I missed a day this week when I planned to show cards every day. I have a good excuse and that is still making gifts for camp. I am having so much fun altering things. I will take photos at camp and show you next week.
anyway here is my first card for today. I am going to show you 2 angles and a close up as I sponged the card using glad wrap and frost white shimmer paint. I wanted this card to give to my sister and brother in law for their 30th wedding anniversary to look like pearl. Its hard to see from the photo. I have used the retiring background stamp Bella Toile and the stamp set A Flower for all Seasons. The colour is Concord Crush.

The next card is a case again from SCS. I changed it from all pink to add in the early Espresso for the base card.

thanks for stopping by. I'll put the last 2 cards up tomorrow before heading off to camp.

More retiring cards...

time for another couple of cards. I found a card on SCS using Scribble This. I bought this set just for the big flower in it and have never used the other stamps. What an expensive flower stamp that is. Anyway it has been ages since I used it so I made this card casing this lovely card which is using sketch challenge SC179 from Splitcoast. I used Rose Red and Certainly Celery. The flower is done in Blushing Bride. I rolled the background with the scribble wheel and gathered some celery ribbon. I am pleased with how it turned out. When I was demonstrating the card I accidentally put the front layer on upside down so I then had a different look again.

Another card we made is using Sanded background, Extreme Guitar and the spiral punch. All retiring products. I cased a card that my friend Sandra had made but changed the colours. I also used the Extreme Elements set. The angled card was the original and I decided to leave it straight on my second card.

I'm off to continue with my camp prep. Hope to show you another couple of cards tomorrow. have a great day

Bulk Rubbish

Hi there,
We have bulk rubbish collection in our street so Graham and his mates got to work on Sunday and cleared our messy verandah and stuff from in the shed and around the yard. I threw out so much stuff, Grahams mate actually checked my fore head to see if I was sick... For those that have been to visit and seen our very messy verandah its now got nothing but a couple of potplants on it. There is still so much more in the shed to be sorted through but havent got time for that at the moment. The boys worked so hard. I am so happy with the result. Here is the pile on the front verge waiting to be collected.

back soon with another card from the weekend
