More Farm Photos

Hi again,
I have popped over to my brother's place to use the Internet so I can show you a few more photos of the lovely scenery around here. I am really enjoying the break away and taking so many photos. I sure am getting good use out of my new camera. The flowers are from my brother and sister in law's garden. Aren't they beautiful?

This is the road to the farm I grew up on. My brother lives there now and mum and dad live across the road. I love the trees.

The agapanthus grow so well down here. I took photos of the different stages of blooming.

I had better get back home (mum's) and shut the chooks in and take the dogs for their walks.
Happy New Year. Thanks for all your comments for the past year. Hope you come to visit again next year.

Greetings from the Farm

Hello there,
I hope you have all had a wonderful time over Christmas with your families. I have been enjoying my time down on the farm with my family. Graham and my kids went home on Boxing Day and Skye and I stayed. It was very hot here the past 2 days but today is so nice. It has even rained today. I have been taking dad and mum's pups for a walk twice a day with Skye running loose enjoying the freedom. The pups have to stay on the lead as they run away and I would hate to lose them. I go down the drive to the chook pen and let out the chooks and collect the eggs in the morning and then at 7pm I go down again and shut them in. Dad has 9 chooks. I counted them twice last night and still managed to see only 7 so dad went down and sure enough there were 9 but I couldn't see them hiding somewhere on the roost.
Here are some of the photos I have been taking. Sorry they are not of cards but lovely animals and scenery.

Well that is all for now. Happy New Year to you.

Place cards for Christmas

hi there,
I hope you are having a good week in the lead up to Christmas. I thought I would show you the place card clips I have made for our Christmas party on Friday night.

I have made oval name tags to place in the clip.
Just a quick post today. Oh I just thought of another photo I want to show you. Skye got groomed today and I was just taking photos of her and I really love this one.

I'm going away for 2 weeks on Saturday down to the farm. I hope to do a few posts while away. In case I don't post again before Christmas, have a blessed Christmas and Happy New year.

Magnolia Tilda Angels

Hello again. Christmas is coming very fast. I have been enjoying my paper crafts. On Friday night I painted some little Magnolia Tilda angel faces. I saw these angels made using this stamp so decided to have a go at making them. I used some doilies I had in my stash to make the lace on the skirts and also the aprons on the red angels. My colouring isnt that good really but I was doing them very late. I decided I wanted mouths on my angels so added them even though Magnolia stamps don't have mouths.

I also made all my place mats ready for our Christmas party. I have made one similar before but instead of adding dots for berries I just stamped a little red flower from Season of Joy stamp set. The wheel is a retired holly wheel.

We have been fishing.

Hi again,
today Graham and I went fishing on the boat. We had planned to be on the water by 7am but due to a late night we slept in a little so was on the water at 8am instead. What a perfect day to be out on the water. You know the saying that when there are lots of people somewhere .... every man and his dog was there.... well today I think every man and both his dogs were out on their boats. The car park was full and they had to open an extra car park for the boat trailers. We didn't have great success though and came home with 3 Skippy and a flounder. I caught a few Rass which we don't eat so threw them back. I had never seen a flounder before so I took some photos.

The Rass that I kept throwing back. Pretty but not good eating.

Graham caught 2 of these Sambo's but they weren't big enough so got thrown back.

Now how did she get in here on a fishing post..... oh well I did mention dogs didn't I?
This is the Flounder. Graham hooked him but he got off and then I cast my line and caught him. This time he didn't get off. The fish is flat and a mottled colour on one side and white on the other.
Wow 2 post on one day. Making up for all the quiet times I have.

Christmas craft....Santas

Hi there,
I have been enjoying making some Christmas crafts with paper of course. I made some Santa faces to add to the long cellophane bags of lollies. There are lots of these Santa faces around so crediting the original maker is a little hard to do. They are so cute. I made about 25 of them. I used the Christmas red and green M&M's that I got from my friend Shelly. They were just perfect. I hope the kids like these for Christmas day.

Back soon with more.

Time gets away from me....

Hello there,
I said on Thursday that I would be back over the weekend with more to show you and then totally forgot to do it. Anyway I decided to pull apart the medallion Christmas tree that I showed you last week as the lopsided tree was bothering me. It now has been put together properly and looks great.
I have another card I made with the set You are Loved. This is a case as well but I did change it some.

I had to do this 3 times as when I did the embossing of the oval it kept marking around where the sides of the folder finish. I then decided to google it and find the way to prevent that from happening. Finding that video again has taken me some time but this is the video that I found so helpful. It makes so much difference. I have made a few shims for my customers so they too can use their folders like this.

Today my friend Sue came down to help me start on my craft room sorting. We managed to get a fair bit done by lunch time so I am happy. Now to keep working on the room so by the time my classes start again next year the room will be less cluttered.

Christmas Cracker

hi again,
I thought I would have a go at making a Christmas cracker. I printed a pattern onto my Cherry Cobbler card and then cut out all the little diamonds to make the ends of the cracker. Once again I have used Jolly Holiday DSP. I bought a few packs of it when it was on special and am using it for all my Christmas projects this year.

Anyway its just a really quick post today. Will be showing more over the weekend.

Medallion Christmas Tree

I found this lovely Medallion Christmas Tree on Fran at Franticstampers blog. I had a go at it and was doing well until I put all the medallions on top of each other and forgot to turn the tree so have a very lopsided tree. It is still OK and a fun tree to make. I used a small tin that had a candle in it.

I'm having fun making some of my Christmas Decorations.

You are Loved stamp set.

Back again. This card is one that I cased. I loved it so much that I didn't change it much at all. Its one of Cherie Franklin's designs. She has also made some other cards with this set which I love so go and check out her blog. This card is really me. Soft pinks and roses.

More to come so will post again later in the week.

Summer Mini Launch

Yesterday I had my launch for the Summer Mini Catalogue. Thank you to those who came along. I made only a few cards as samples as I have been so busy with the fundraiser and also the fair but thanks to a lovely friend I had a nice lot of cards to show.
Anyway I will show you the card I designed for the Make and Take. I had made the first card with the Not Quite Navy and then decided to add the Cherry Cobbler as I thought it would look better and my customers agreed. I love this set and designer papers to go with it.

I will come back later in the week to show you some of the other cards.
thanks for stopping by.
