Emboss Resist Technique

Hi there, another week has flown by and I haven't got back to my blog. I have not been too well in the past couple of weeks and my Dr is changing some of my medication and wow what a head spin I have been in for a week now with the withdrawals from the medication. Here I am at 6am on my computer as I cant sleep. Hopefully things will get better soon.

Now I did say I would show you the technique card we made last Sunday so here it is. I got out a stamp set I haven't used in a very long time. It is Priceless. The technique is Emboss resist. I used Crumb Cake, Choc Chip and Very Vanilla. I embossed in Clear so that the vanilla shows through. The side panel I brayered over with choc chip and the butterfly I used a sponge dauber to cover the embossed area.
The retiring list of stamp sets comes out tomorrow and I think Priceless will be on it. Remember if you want any of the stamps that are retiring, to order them early in the month as once they run out you wont be able to get them again.
Have a lovely day.

Sketch Challenge 204

hi there, I hope you have had a nice weekend. I managed to do some sketch challenges last week. They are not new ones but a couple I found in my folder. I decided to use my medium background stamp Fine Flourish. I stamped it in Blue and then coloured it with reinker and a round brush. I had fun painting this as it took me back to my folk art days. The sketch I used is SC204. I used Presto Patterns Specialty DP and brayered it with Marina Mist for the 2nd layer.

1st layer of painting just a wash.

 then add some darker commas.

I have also done one in green which I will show you tomorrow.
thanks for stopping by.

Brayered Background Case

hi Again,
I went through my swaps from convention and found one I really loved and decided to make it from a small 10x10 card  into an A5 card. I dont have the original card with me at the moment so I will have to acknowledge to original creator later. I can now tell you that this card was one of Paula Dobson's Check out her blog. She has some wonderful creations. Anyway here is my efforts.

The colours are Early Esspresso, Sahara Sand and Very Vanilla. The inks are Sahara Sand and Early Esspresso.

Flower Fancy

Hi there,
well it has been a little while since I last posted. I was looking through some card favourites last night and found a card using the set Flower fancy. I have had this set for ages and haven't really done much with it so I dug it out and cased this lovely card by Andrea Walford.
I used the background French Filigree instead of leaving the main card plain and changed the greeting.
I love Pink Pirouette and Wild Wasabi together. The technique is brayered embossing.
Hope to make some more cards in the next few days. Thanks for stopping by.

More Exmouth Photos

As promised here are some more of my photos of my Exmouth holiday.

The view of the coast line flying up in the plane.
The view out of my tent
 Seagull at Sunset
Having my toe nails done by Sue.
My first fish. The next 3 were bigger.
Checking out Turquoise Bay
Desert Peas on the side of the road
The above 3 photos are rocks on the beach at Oyster Stacks. Where we get into the water to snorkel and a couple of the pretty parrot fish on the reef. Well that is all for now. Next time I will have some cards for you hopefully.

Stamp Club Cards

Hi, I have been home a week now and as I was busy getting ready for a Craft Fair I didn't get the time to update my blog. Anyway I have just taken some photos of the cards we made at Stamp club yesterday so I can show you and also those who missed making them. I have been showing the club different techniques using Glossy White card stock so this month I did crayon resist. I love this set Growing Green so decided to use it. Also it was the only set I happened to have with me at the craft fair when I decided to design the card. Yes I am one of those who leaves things to the last minute, so the day before stamp club I am designing a card ready to teach. I used my new background stamp french filigree and the colours are Marina Mist, Pear Pizzazz and Baja Breeze.
As I had some new ladies at club yesterday I also revisited the Versamark Resist technique and they made some book marks. I had been demonstrating them at the Fair so had some left over kits.

The larger book mark is a case from one of the boards at Convention but as I didn't get the swap I am not sure who designed it.
This is part of our table at the Fair. I shared a table with my friend Richelle. It was freezing as we were near the door and the wind was a cold one. It was the Craft Thyme fair in South Perth.

I hope to show some more photos of my holiday later this week so my family can see them too.
Keep warm.

Snorkelling in Exmouth

Hi, Today I went snorkeling for the last time here in Exmouth. Mum and my cousins Graeme and Sue went down to the Oyster Stacks at 9.30am and had a wonderful time floating along on the current looking at all the beautiful fish and coral. I managed to take some better photos on the mask camera so thought I would show you some of the fish. Since it was overcast it wasn't as clear but still got some OK shots.

Once again I am having trouble uploading photos so will only show 2. I am going home on Sunday. I would love to stay longer but it will also be nice to be home with my family. It has been a wonderful holiday here with my mum and dad.
