Tonight is Ball night for Lesmurdie Senior High and Emily looked stunning in her gown with her hair done. I know I am a biased mum but just look at these photos. She is going with her friend Joel. Anyway I think I'll just let the photos tell the story.

Bleach Spatter and Sponge
Hello again. I hope those here in WA are managing to keep cool with this heat wave going on at the moment. A burst of 40 deg + days to finish summer.
Today I have a card to show you that I made using a new technique I tried. Its called bleach spatter and sponge. I used bashful blue card stock for my base and then sponged Taken with Teal and Bravo Burgundy over the card and then spattered it with bleach. I decided it was about time I used my stamp set Rustic Rooster so I used it to finish the card. I also gave the handwritten sentiment that a few people have been doing a go. I'm not too keen on my handwriting but after a few practises I went with this one.
That is about all for today. Im off to keep cool under the air conditioner. Blow the electricity bill!!!!

Roses for my birthday
After a good run on posting I have been slack again. I had a busy weekend with my birthday on Sunday and have been having some quiet, lazy days since. I had a really wonderful birthday with some lovely cards and presents from my family and friends. I received 2 lovely roses in pots. The first one is a standard and smells divine and is a pale plum colour from my niece Amy and the second one from my sister in law is pink and called Princess De Monaco. I bought a couple of big pots and plan to keep them in pots in my courtyard. I picked some buds and these are the photos of them.
I hope to have some cards to show you soon. Until then have a good week

Punched Book Worm
hi again,
Punching is one of my favourite techniques so here is another card that we did at my last get together with my friends. Jennie showed us this card which is cased so has been designed by someone out there on the web. I think this book worm is so cute. I have heard from the designer of this great punched caracter and it is Ellen Kemper.
Thanks for letting me know Ellen. I do like to give credit for where the idea came from.
This is another rushed post as I am off out to rehearse singing for church on Sunday. We have a team of musicians with a few singers to lead the worship service on Sunday at LBC. I am on this week and even though its my birthday on Sunday I still plan to be there. I do love to sing.
have a good day

Happy Valentines Day
Hello and Happy Valentines Day to you.
Graham and I are going to see the movie "Valentines Day" this afternoon and then go out for dinner. He's out fishing on the boat with his son this morning so I hope he catches some fish and he has put his new cray pots in for the first time so I hope he gets at least one for himself. I don't eat Crayfish so all the more for the rest of the family.
Today I thought I would show you the card I taught to my stamp club yesterday. It is a exact case from Barb Mullikan. The technique is chalk lines. I love these colours together and everyone loved the card. The colours are Taken with Teal, Ballet Blue and Lavender Lace. I used the set Spotlight on Christmas and stem sayings.
If you are interested in doing some technique classes I am going to run a series of them with a technique sheet for a booklet as well. Just drop me a line to let me know of your interest. I will also being doing a series of punch classes.
Anyway have a great day

A few of my favourite things
I have had a nice quiet day at home today and I have been enjoying a few of my favourite things..... Card making, my dog Skye and my roses.
I haven't shown you any pics of Skye lately so bear with me while I put her on show. On Australia Day we went to a friends and she met a new friend Ebony. She also was introduced to chooks for the first time and she was a naughty girl and chased them up and down their pen, from the outside but they were still rather upset.
I chopped Graham out of this photo of Ebony and Skye so that is why there is a little halo around their heads. Its much better than a pot belly and a beer as a background.
I'm a big girl now!
Checking out the chooks
I have also been creating today. I have actually created 2 square cards. I am pleased with what I have done. The first card is using my circle scissors for the circles and even punched the scallop edge with the edge punch. I just used 3 scallops from the end and kept moving it around. It was very easy and looks great. I used Urban Garden designer paper and my latest new stamp set Petal Pizzazz. I only bought this set because I really liked the look of the flowers in the US set Vintage vogue and thought with some Kissing I may be able to make these look a bit like them. I did them by just kissing the clean En francais stamp with the loaded stamp but it want noticeable enough so I inked up the background stamp with Not Quite Navy and kissed my flower stamp to it before stamping on whisper white. What do you think?
This next card I made using Fifth Ave Floral I stamped on the front of my whisper white card and coloured it using ink from the stamp pads. I then cut the right hand edge off and around the flower. I then stamped the flower on my imaging sheet and turned it over and pressed it on the back of the cut out flower. I used the Three little words set for the greeting. I even stamped an envelope to match. I thought I would make this card for my mum for valentines day. I was telling my daughter that you can give anyone you love a Valentines card.
well what a long post. I also have lots more cards that I ahve made recently to show so will come back another day to show you them.

also my roses are looking great at the moment and I do love flowers, especially roses. I picked a nice vase of fuller blooms and don't they look nice?

LBC Papercraft Afternoon
Wow, I'm actually getting much better at blogging. Only 2 days since my last post.
Today my friend Sandra and I started a paper craft afternoon at Lesmurdie Baptist Church where we both go. We plan to run it once a month and as today was the first day we only had a few people attend but it was a nice afternoon and I even got to make some cards. If you live in the area and feel like some company while crafting come along next time. Just email me for more details. I taught an origami box with note paper and pencil and Sandra taught a crayon resist card. I did 2 of the cards in 2 different colours. It was so nice to just sit and make a card that I didn't have to think about. The colours are Bashful Blue and Cameo Coral. Sandra had made her sample in the Cameo Coral but bought along blue as well and we decided that we liked the blue better. What do you think?
I also had time to stamp and put together another card folder with Certainly Celery and Regal Rose as the colours. I did have it all pre-cut which always helps.
Well thats all for now. Have a wonderful Sunday whatever your plans may be.

Gift Card Holder
While going through some more boxes (I haven't been doing much of that lately) I found this card/gift card holder that I made with 2 envelopes. My friend Colleen had a box of envelopes she wanted to use so we had to make something with them for homework. This is what I made. Its just 2 envelopes stuck together and covered with stamped images. I did see the idea somewhere on the www but it was so long ago that I'm not sure where. The stamps I have used are Baroque motifs, En francais and butterfly prints.
Inside there are 2 pockets. In one I have made a greeting piece and the other is for a gift card or cash or whatever you would like to tuck in there.
I'm enjoying a quiet relaxing day today as I had an Iron infusion yesterday and am supposed the take it easy for a couple of days, so I don't feel too guilty playing on my computer. I hope your day is going well too.
This is the front of the card. The 2 Butterflies hold it closed.
