Room Update
This weekend Graham finished off the outside of the room by painting and adding the flashing and gutters etc. It looks great. Emily helped with some painting on Saturday.
These photos show the 3 sides of the room and Graham putting the capping on the roof. He has done a great job. Now we just have the inside to do and put on an entrance door.

Back Room Update
The room building has slowed down abit but Graham has put up the brackets for the ceiling to be attached to and David vacuumed out the struts so there is no dirt left in them when the plaster board goes on. Graham now has to put the insulation in the walls and we are waiting for the alarm to be wired before we can get the plastering done. The windows and sliding door has been put in and we have to buy an entrance door now. Hopefully we will get the outside painted this weekend.
Easter Cards
I have had a busy week so havent had the chance to post since Monday. It was my birthday yesterday so I spent the day out and was out again today. Thank you to those who sent me Birthday wishes.
On Wednesday I taught the ladies these Easter cards. I dont normally give Easter cards but as I was asked to teach something, I made these and then decided to give them to my kids for Easter with some money in, instead of eggs. I used my cuttlebug for the backgrounds and the pattern is cut out of the egg with a craft knife.

Punched Fairies
Sorry I havent posted anything for a few days. I have had a few headaches and also been busy. I taught a class on Saturday making these little fairies using different punches. They are quite cute and since I have so many punches I thought I had better start using some of them. These are not the best photos but hopefully you can see them ok.

Vest Cards
These are the cards I taught at LBC craft today. They are made using punches to cut all the sections. I have used the Stampin Up 32 and 35 mm square punches. The 12mm and 32 mm circles and also the tag punch. They are so easy to make for the men in your life. The papers are from the $2 books of scrapbooking papers you can get from Red Dot etc
Happy Valentines Day
Happy Valentines Day to all my friends. I hope you are having a nice day.
The card below is the one I made for my husband Graham. It is a different fold and I used my new cuttlebug heart die that has a matching embossing die. The instructions can be found here on the BHG site. The heart is hanging on gold thread.

Emboss Resist
At my stamp club this month one of the techniques was Emboss resist. We did the one in Pretty in Pink. I then found these 2 other cards I had made in Perfect Plum and also Lavender Lace. After embossing your images in white on whisper white card stock, you then sponge over the whole piece of card in your chosen colours. I prefer soft subtles for this technique but I am sure it would look ok in the darker colours.
Update on the Back Room
This is the room on Saturday morning as the roof is being put up. A builder friend of Graham's came on Saturday morning to help get the roof on.
the start of putting on the outer walls. Our brother-in-law, Nigel, kindly came over in the afternoon to help with cutting and fixing on the weathertex.
After a hard weekend of work this is the room this morning. Its amazing how quickly it is going up.

In Full Bloom yet again
You know how much I love to paint.... well last night I stamped and painted 10 of these cards, while watching some TV. I am making cards to donate to the chaplain that used to be at my son's school. She helped him so much that I would like to give something back. Most of these cards are made with the soft subtle colours and using the In Full Bloom stamp set with a few different sayings stamps.
My card making class at home starts again tomorrow so I thought we would make some of these cards as the girls both used to be in my folk art classes before I started teaching card making. Having experience in painting makes these a nice relaxing card to start the year off.
Thank you to those who have left comments on my blog lately. Its nice to get feedback.

Ahoy Matey
This is the card I made to demonstrate at my last workshop. I dont have this set so I borrowed it from Lee-Anne along with the Matey's Map wheel. I had fun making a few cards with the set. I also used the cheesecloth background stamp. The happy birthday is from It's Your Birthday. The colours I have used are ruby red, not quite navy and naturals ivory.
The Frame is Up
Graham worked very hard over the weekend and the frame for the walls is up. The windows and doors are in as well. I am so proud of Graham for getting this far on his own. He is rather tired and sore. I told him he needs to get some help before doing any of the roof.
I was standing out in the room last night and working out where things would go and am amazed at how big the room is. It will be the biggest room in the whole house. You cant tell that I am excited, can you?

Lace' Card
I was visiting a customer of mine today and mentioned Lace' as a technique and she didnt know what I meant, so here is a card to show it. Most people know the technique when they see a sample. I teach general card making at home on a Wednesday and we do many different techniques. If anyone would like to join my class just phone or email me about it.
My Room Is Going Up
Graham has started building the back room today. I'm so excited. I do feel bad though that he is out in 34 degree heat while I am inside with the airconditioner full blast. I keep telling him to come inside and do it when its cooler but he is keen to get as much done this weekend as he can.
There is a thunderstorm forecast for tonight which is a problem as all the tiles are off the main roof while he attaches the beams to the house.
I am cooking a big roast dinner for 10 people tonight as my sister Sue is up from Manjimup and its her birthday so I invited everyone here. Bad day for roasting but its an easy meal to do. If it wasnt so hot I would set up the tables out on the slab so I would have room for 10. It will be so nice to have more room in the house.

Punch and Emboss border
A friend asked me today about border punches that look like lace and emboss as well. I found a couple of cards I have made using the punch I have, so decided to show them to you. I have used patterned paper and 3D to decorate the cards with the white paper lace made with the border punch. Its a lovely border design so I must get it out and use it some more.
