My Room Is Going Up

Graham has started building the back room today. I'm so excited. I do feel bad though that he is out in 34 degree heat while I am inside with the airconditioner full blast. I keep telling him to come inside and do it when its cooler but he is keen to get as much done this weekend as he can.

There is a thunderstorm forecast for tonight which is a problem as all the tiles are off the main roof while he attaches the beams to the house.

I am cooking a big roast dinner for 10 people tonight as my sister Sue is up from Manjimup and its her birthday so I invited everyone here. Bad day for roasting but its an easy meal to do. If it wasnt so hot I would set up the tables out on the slab so I would have room for 10. It will be so nice to have more room in the house.

Punch and Emboss border

A friend asked me today about border punches that look like lace and emboss as well. I found a couple of cards I have made using the punch I have, so decided to show them to you. I have used patterned paper and 3D to decorate the cards with the white paper lace made with the border punch. Its a lovely border design so I must get it out and use it some more.

Friendship Blooms

This weekend while keeping out of the heat I found a card on SCS by stamp-happy21 that I decided to case and change a little. I had fun making these cards and here are 2 of them. Thanks to Diane for the idea. I have added the butterfly from the set Merci as well. The colours I have used are Certainly Celery, Always Amethyst, Regal Rose and Naturals Ivory.

In Full Bloom

This is one of the cards I made while on holidays. I love this set as I really enjoy colouring. I have always wanted to make this card. I cased it from 2 cards on SCS. You can find one here
and one that my friend Nicki made. The idea is great but there is a fair bit of work in figuring it out. I used mellow moss, bashful blue and pretty in pink and of course black. The blue is stamped with canvas background. What do you think?

The Slab is Laid

For those that come to my place for stamp club you will know that I badly need more room in this house. After 6 months of talking about it and saving like crazy, the slab for the "Back Room" was laid yesterday. I'm so excited that I am finally going to have a family room and also somewhere for my stamping. I'll let the rest of the family think its a family room, when its actually somewhere for me to have classes and store all my craft stuff. Next week the frame and outer walls will go up and then we just finish it as we can afford to. Once the roof is on I can always set up my trestle tables on the concrete and enjoy the space.

My Cat Meeka

I took a couple of pictures of my cat Meeka this morning. She just lies on her back and looks so relaxed. I thought that for those who havent met her before I would show her to you. I just love her and she lets the kids do anything to her and is such a wonderful pet.

Earth Elements and Petal Prints

Tonight I decided to use Stampin Up Earth Elements colours and got out my Petal Prints as I havent used it much lately. Also we were talking about the Linen background in Stamp Club today so I thought I would use that as well (not that you can see it much on this photo). I have used Summer Sun, Close to Cocoa with Garden Green. The butterfly is done in Cameo Coral and I used the flower from easy elegance for it and drew the body with the black stampin write marker. I also drew the Faux brads in with the black marker and highlighted with the white gel pen. You can sure tell the brads are faux as I notice a couple are bigger than the others. oh well they still look ok...
