Rainbow over my home....

Last week Emily rang me from the local shops to tell me to go outside and look at the rainbow over our home. Even though I was in my dressing gown, I just had to go out in the rain and take some photos. My camera doesn't take wide angle so I joined 2 photos together, (not so well) but it shows how magnificent this rainbow was. It was a full rainbow with a second one just above. The end of the rainbow looked like it was right there in our culdesac.
What a reminder of God's great creations.

Have a great week.

Perth Regional Meeting

Hi, Today I have been to Perth Regional Meeting for Stampin' Up!
It was a fun day and I was lucky enough to be asked to present a workshop WOW. I decided to show cards made using Patchwork. While I was down at mum's last week I also made a patchwork bag and cushion cover using Stampin' Up!'s fabrics.
here are the card samples I showed. The first card is made using the Bargello patchwork technique and Eat Cake DSP.
This next card is made using fabric and also the bargello method. I embossed the fabric with the lattice embossing folder. The next photo is of the inside. I didn't want to waste the piece I cut off, so put it inside.

These are the last 3 cards. I embossed the card after doing the patchwork to make it look Quilted. I don't have time to explain all the cards now as I am really tired after a long day. I also realise that I haven't photographed the cushion and bag so will have to show you them another day. I hope you like my cards. I was thrilled that the demonstrators who saw them today gave me good feedback.
I will give you more details when I am not so tired. Im off to bed for a good rest.

Stamp Club cards

Hi there,
I held my stamp club on Sunday and we made 2 cards. One is a Michelle Zindorf case which I changed a little in size and embellishments. I love her cards and even though she does lots of brayering, this one doesn't have any brayering on it. I decided to make it a get well card for my parents who are both very unwell with the flu at the moment. I happened to catch that flu and now am sick too. Gives me an excuse to lay in bed most of the day which is something I don't do very often. I have lots to do but it can wait a few days.
 The inside.

The second card was one I have shown you before. Its the stencilled card using the Lace Border Punch. I'll show you again anyway.
I will show you some more cards after regionals on Saturday as I have a couple of swaps that I have made.
have a good week.

Back from the farm.

Hi there, I got back from my week down on the farm last night. I didn't get as much time as planned out on the farm as dad is in hospital so I drove mum into town every day to visit dad. I did enjoy being out in the country. Every morning I would take mums puppies out for a walk and this is the view from the verandah.

The pups are 5 months old but not trained yet so I enjoyed taking them out every hour or so for toilet training. They are Chihuahua cross toy poodle. They are cute. My camera is playing up and the pups didn't keep still for long so I didn't get any good photos of them.

I got to visit with my sisters Sue and Barbie while down there. We spent an evening together stamping. I got some of my swaps done for upcoming Perth regional's. I also used mum's sewing machine and made some patchwork items. I will show you them next week when I have them finished properly. I actually enjoyed using the sewing machine. I haven't sewn for about 15 years but now plan to get my old machine serviced and start doing some sewing again.
Anyway that is all for now. Have a good weekend.

Cards while I am away.....

Hello again.
Hope your week is going well. I am sure I will be enjoying my week with my parents and my sisters. I started doing this post and found that I hadn't photographed the rest of my cards from the launch and I haven't got time to take them all off the display board and take them out of the cello bags so you will have to excuse the photos. Today's cards are made using the set Button Buddies. I have used the flower first and then cased a Michelle Zindorf with the pig. The last card is using the snail and is cased also.

Lace Ribbon Border Punch

hello again,
I thought I would get another post in before going off to the farm. I made a few things using the Lace Ribbon Border Punch. I didn't think I would use this punch much and very nearly didn't buy it. Well since I have been doing some research I have found that there are many uses for it. You saw the altered bottle I made for camp which I used a strip of the Lace ribbon punch with a ribbon threaded through. The next card I made by stencilling through the lace piece onto white card and I also punched a strip and cut it in half to use as a mat behind the main piece. I have a picture of the first piece I stencilled in Bashful Blue but then decided to a darker one.

This is the stencilled piece in blue
I used the butterfly from the Creative Elements set and embossed it in white on Wisteria Wonder card.

I then punched a strip that I added the 2nd piece from the triple layer punch Blossom Bouquet. I had done a 12 inch piece for a scrapbook page but decided to cut it down for a card. I then ran it through the big shot with the new stripes folder. I wasn't sure what to do with the card then, so I ended up just punching out the bird from the new stamp set Language of friendship. I used the greeting from that set as well but to use the modern label punch I had to cut off the name at the bottom.

Not the best photo but it shows the card.

The final card I have to show you I cased. I just spent half an hour looking for the card again so I can credit the creator. Please if you know who it is let me know so I can credit her. I love the way the punch is used for a border and the piece that comes out of the centre I used for the greeting. I punched 1 inch circles to put behind the flower.
Well that turned into a long post. I will try to schedule a post for while I am away.
hope your weekend has been a good one.

ESAD New catalogue Blog Hop

Hi there,
Welcome to my blog on the ESAD blog hop for the new Stampin Up Idea Book & Catalogue.
What is ESAD?

ESAD stands for "Extra Special Australasian Demonstrators" and it is an on-line group just for Australian and New Zealand Stampin Up demonstrators.

We so love what we do and not only do we love to share it with our customers, friends, and wonderful blog visitors, but we share our love for what we do with each other as demonstrators. We run swaps, challenges, tutorials, product know-how, and cyberstamps, and we are always there to help and support each other when it is needed.

So if you are a Stampin' Up! demonstrator located in Australia or New Zealand, then please fee free to click here to join our wonderful group.

You may have come from Elizabeth Dyson's blog but if you have started here then keep following around for the complete hop.
Today I want to show you a couple of altered items that I have been playing with this week. I used my new designer paper Beau Chateau to alter this clock that I got for $4.95 at a discount shop. I also embossed the roses from the stamp set Elements of Style on whisper white and coloured it using my markers and then cut them out and glued them on the face of the clock.

The second item I altered this week is a photo frame. I love this piece of designer paper in the pink pirouette and soft suede. I then made some roses and put them on the bottom left corner. Now I have to find a nice photo to put in the frame.

The final project I made is a box using the new Petite Pocket die. I wanted to find something else I could do with this die and I think the box is a nice size one made using 4 pocket die cuts. The flower I made using blossom Party die and also 2 different circle punches. I used some more of the beau Chateau paper left from the frame to decorate the box.

As a special thank you for all our visitors we have Blog Candy!!  We will have two prizes – one for a New Zealand visitor and one for an Australian visitor.  What you need to do to be eligible to win is to visit and comment on every blog in the hop. Then you need to email Sharlene and advise her that you’ve completed the Blog Hop and give her your name, email and location.

thanks for stopping by. Now its time to hop along to Michelle Greth's blog. Enjoy your day.

I didnt get back to my blog......

Hi there,
I said I would come back and show you close ups of the cards I made for my launch and the week has gone by and I haven't. Sorry about that. I am going away on Sunday for a lovely week down on the farm with mum and dad so I had better do a post now. The first 2 cards are cased using a beautiful Season. I found this lovely card on Splitcoast here and loved it so didn't change anything apart from the red on the breast. The second card is a CASE from the catalogue on page 22.

The next stamp I used is Tidings of Joy. I love to colour so did 2 in different colours using sketch challenges to design them. The blue is SC204 and the red is SC173. On both I used the square lattice embossing folder.

Come back tomorrow as I am participating in the ESAD Blog Hop. I will have to add some more cards when I get back from Manjimup or if I get access to a computer while down there I may even surprise you.
 have a great weekend.

My New Catalogue Launch

hi there, I hope you have had a good weekend. Mine was busy but also fun. I spent all last week making samples to display at my launch of the new Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalogue. On Saturday I had 10 ladies come along to my launch and I demonstrated a few things and then they made a card using the new Pennant Parade stamp set along with the matching punch. I took some photos to show you.
This is the display board of cards. I will show you the individual cards over the next week.

I gave each person a new catalogue survival kit and included tabs for their catalogue. The picture below is my catalogue with the tabs in place. I didn't think to make each one to match the colours in the book but they still help to find what you are looking for. My daughter Emily made the document for me with all the new names of sections for this current catalogue.

This is the little post it note cover I made for the kits. I used the new hostess set Simply Soft. Below is a lamp I altered using a stamp from Creative Elements. I still need to add some ribbon around the bottom but ran out of time. The lamp was a kids one that I bought from an op shop.

The card above is the make and take. I kept it simple so they could all make it in the time we had. I made my second card using a solid birthday greeting which is below.

Thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the afternoon a success.  A special thank you to my good friend Sandra who helped me to clean up and set up the room and also my niece Amy who came over on Friday night and helped me finish some samples.
