Making Cards for Men

Today in class I was asked to teach cards for men so these are some cards we made. I found the ideas and papers in a magazine from the UK. The first one is made from 2 envelopes stuck together so you can slip some money or a voucher in the right inside.

This one is made to look like a tag and has a little pocket inside to put a gift voucher or ticket. I bought the stamp second hand the other day just for using today.
This card is a gate fold card with a tie attached to the front. A very quick easy card.
this card is a silhouette card. The man is cut out and attached to the front panel, with a blue background square on the inside with some little stars in the night sky. The picture reminded me of my dad so I made this a get well soon card as he is having an operation next week.

Furniture Moved Into Room

Last night Graham moved my furniture into the room for me. It looks so great. We haven't moved the TV cabinet etc in yet but the most important stuff is in there.... all my craft cupboards. Now the big job of bringing in my huge amount of boxes and unpack them and sort things so I can store them where I can find them easily. I am hoping to have the room so I can keep it tidy easily. This is a picture of one wall with most of my cupboards along it.

Garden Whimsey

This is a card I made using the Faux tearing technique and the butterfly from Garden Whimsey. I used the paisely background with Brocade Blue on Bashful Blue.

Laying the flooring and skirtings

This weekend Graham and I have been laying the laminate flooring in the back room. I only passed the boards to him so he didnt have to keep getting up and down, but it made it a much quicker job. The skirtings have all been cut and just have to be glued into place. Do you like the weights we are using to hold it in place?

A Card to Show

This is the 4th card I made with the hostess set A Little Bit of happiness. I missed it off the post with the other 3 but have finally got a pic of it. The DP is Berry Bliss. The card colours are Pretty in Pink, Close to Cocoa and Choc Chip. I cased this card from "justbehappy" at SCS. Thank you for a great idea.

Change of my Photo

Hi, Thank you for your comments about my makeover. As it was suggested I use this photo as my blog photo, I have changed it over. Most people think I look years younger than before. Now does this mean I looked older before, or now look younger than 47....lol

Hope you are having a good week. I am off to clear out the back room, with the help of my friend Sandra, so that Graham can start on laying the floor. The room has come to a standstill since I started using it before it was finished. Hopefully by the end of the long weekend I will have my furniture in and can start organising my huge amount of craft supplies.

Cards with New Sets

Here are 3 cards made with new sets. The first 2 are with Fun and Fast Notes and I have cased them from SCS. The third one is with Garden Whimsey which I have borrowed from my friend. Also cased. What would we do without all our lovely sharing friends on SCS.

My Make Over

On Friday I went to a Maurice Mead salon and had their Summer makeover special. I have never had anything like this done before as I usually dont like to pay too much for my hair do's. Anyway I thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon. The colourist did 3 different colour foils in my hair and then the stylist restyled my hair into the shape he felt looked better and blow waved it nicely. Then the make up artist did my make up and I got to take home a large tin of hairspray and the foundation that she had used. All for $155. The deal was valued at $300 which of course I would never spend on myself. I felt pampered and really like what they did.
Thank you to my sister Sue for suggesting I lash out and have it done. What do you think of the results???

Garden Whimsey

This is one of the cards I made with a new set. This is the lovely 'Garden Whimsey' set. I have also used the designer paper Berry Bliss. I cased a card by "dancerriley" on SCS changing the designer paper and omitting the eyelets and brads.

2008/2009 Idea Book & Catalogue Launch

My launch for the new catalogue yesterday went really well. Here are some more photos as promised. below is the morning group of ladies making the make and take. Also a photo of one of my display tables with the sample cards and sets used. The last photo is of the make and take we did. Using only the set Priceless with Always artichoke ink. The card stock is Certainly Celery, Always Artichoke and Very Vanilla. Also using the new Scallop punch with the 2 larger circle punches.

This card was cased from SCS which you can find here . I do apologise to "ahanek" for not crediting her with the design when I first put this on my blog. I love SCS for creative ideas and usually try to give credit.

New Room is painted

Graham finished painting the walls at 11pm on Thursday so the room would be painted for my catalogue launch. One wall is the darker green and all the others are a lighter green. It looks really good. Now just have to lay the flooring and a few other finishing off things and we can start putting the furniture in. I'm such a lucky girl.

A Little Bit of Happiness

Today I had the launch of the new Idea Book and catalogue. I held it in 2 sessions and it turned out to be a great day. Its late and I'm tired but I thought I would show you 3 cards I made using the hostess set, A Little Bit of happiness. I love this set. It has one more stamp in the set and I made a card with that too but its still on the camera. I will show you that next time.
Thank you to everyone who came and supported me today. I will show more photos over the weekend and also of the newly painted room. Have a great weekend.
These cards are Cased from SCS with my spin on them. I have also used the set Sprinkles for some of the backgrounds.
